What is the Sales Skills Workshop ?
The Sales Skills Workshop (SSW) is a practical approach to the improvement of the selling and relationship building process. It is an intensive four-day workshop conducted by experienced sales, marketing, and adult education specialists. Each workshop is designed to accommodate a maximum of eight participants who work with a facilitator / instructor. Participants review basic ideas about selling and relationship building, check their current practices and, within the safe environment of the workshop, try new strategies and techniques. *Please Note: It is essential that all participants free themselves from outside responsibilities for the duration of this workshop.

Goals of the SSW

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Use selling techniques to inform potential customers and clients about the benefits your products and services will provide to them.
  • Write a useful, practical customer benefit plan.
  • Use simple techniques during your sales presentations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your sales presentations.
  • Conduct highly participatory sales presentations.
  • Use common sales presentation aids ( e.g. flip charts, overhead projectors, samples, referrals) competently.
  • Use good questioning techniques during your sales presentations.
  • Give objective feedback.

What will I be doing in the SSW?

During the workshops participants each prepare and deliver three 10 minute "mini-sales presentations". They then receive written, oral, and video feedback from the facilitator and their peers on the effectiveness of their sales presentations. Participants are encouraged to use this feedback to enhance their sales presentation and customer benefit plan development skills. Participants are strongly encouraged to experiment with different selling techniques and to sell towards different purchasing needs: New Buy, Modified re-buy, re-buy.
